American Skin Institute was formed in 2012, when the office of Ilya Reyter, MD, merged with the office of Allan Wirtzer, MD.
Our founder and Medical Director, Ilya Reyter, MD, is fellowship-trained in dermatological surgery, specializing in Mohs skin cancer surgery and reconstruction as well as minimally invasive cosmetic surgery.
From skin cancer treatment, to cosmetic enhancement, to rashes and other medical & surgical dermatology concerns, the board certified dermatologists, plastic surgeons and staff at American Skin Institute are dedicated to providing the best treatment for all aspects of skin disease.

Our Sherman Oaks dermatology practice, formerly Mid Valley Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Center, is located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley across the street from Sherman Oaks Hospital. This location continues to offer all of the same products and services as it did under the Mid Valley name, led by Dr. Ilya Reyter, double board-certified dermatologist, fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and Medical Director.
